An information meeting on saving energy was held as part of the project “Hallo Nachbarn – Frauen gestalten Vielfalt”, run by the Women’s Council of the Alevi Community of Berlin (BAT) – Cemevi (Alevi house of worship) in cooperation with Kaleidoskop Projekttraining (KOPA) and the Turkish Federation in Berlin-Brandenburg (TBB).
At the event, supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Labour, Social Affairs, Equal Treatment, Diversity and Anti-Discrimination, ways of saving energy at home were explained as part of the Stromspar-Check project. Speakers Matthias Kutz and Daniel Poschadel gave participants practical advice on the savings that can be made by using electricity, heating and water more consciously.
The presentation was met with great interest, and participants learned about saving methods that can be applied in everyday life. Participants also applied for the free service offered under the Stromspar-Check project, which checks household electrical appliances and assesses energy consumption.
Mukaddes Dede Aslan, Chair of the BAT-Cemevi Women’s Council, said: “Energy is one of the most important issues of our time. Energy prices are very high, and low-income families in particular are facing serious difficulties. With this meeting, we aimed both to help households save money and to prevent energy from being wasted. Using energy consciously is beneficial in every respect.”
