Nikah ceremony

The Nikah ceremony, which reflects the traditional values of our Alevi community, is held at the Berlin Cemevi, the Alevi house of worship. The Nikah ceremony is the process by which couples formalise their lifelong union within the framework of Alevi values. It is conducted by our Dedes and Anas as a ceremony founded on the principles of love, equality and loyalty.

This sacred union means that couples declare their commitment to one another both before the community and in accordance with the principles of the Alevi faith. As the Berlin Cemevi, we regard the Nikah ceremony as an important ritual that sets out the couple’s responsibilities towards each other and towards society, while also keeping Alevi teachings alive within the family. With this ceremony, we offer couples spiritual support and guidance as they set out on this new path together.
