I’m Part of Politics Too!
This project focuses on migrant communities, particularly people of Turkish origin, and on migrant self-organisations. Its aim is to increase political participation and to produce short films that introduce a range of political actors and create positive role models. Our project will strengthen links with political institutions in Berlin, organise discussions and workshops, and provide informative resources for newcomers. The project places particular emphasis on political neutrality, gender equality and combating discrimination. It also aims to raise awareness of sexual orientation and antisemitism.
The project is supported by the Berlin State Centre for Civic Education (Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Berlin).
Target group:
This project is aimed at migrant communities of Turkish origin in Berlin and at migrant self-organisations. It is aimed in particular at newcomers and young people.
Project aims:
- To increase the political participation of people of Turkish origin and of migrant communities.
- To provide information about political institutions and raise public awareness.
- To present positive role models for political and voluntary engagement.
- To raise awareness of gender equality and the fight against discrimination.
This project offers a variety of opportunities to help people of Turkish origin in Berlin take an active part in political life. It aims to help participants learn more about discrimination and mechanisms of exclusion.
