Taking Part in Alevi Religious Education

Who can take part?

All pupils at the school concerned, whether Alevi or not, can take part in Alevi religious education. If 8 or more pupils wish to attend, a class can be formed at that school and we can assign a teacher. Lessons take place for two hours a week and are organised according to each school’s timetable.

Who teaches?

Lessons are taught by Alevi teachers appointed by the BAT-Cemevi (the Alevi house of worship). In line with the Berlin Schools Act, our teachers hold a teaching qualification.
They have also attended the training seminar for teachers of Alevi religious education organised by the BAT-Cemevi and have successfully obtained a certificate.
